THE TAX CUTS AND JOBS ACT

 

This session will address the new policy and its effects regarding corporate tax implications, pass-through tax implications and it will touch on individual income tax changes and alternative minimum tax; along with miscellaneous provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Scott Hoyles, Principal and Joseph Mayer, Principal of Olsen Thielen will provide an overview on these key topics.

This intermediate level program will meet the following learning objectives:

  • Attendees will gain and understanding of corporate tax implications via:  New tax rate, elimination of AMT/interest expense limitation
  • Attendees will also learn how the pass-through tax implications will work
  • Attendees will learn about miscellaneous provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

Speaker Bio:  Matthew Klein, CPA/Olsen Thielen

Matt is a Manager in the Tax Department of the Eden Prairie and Roseville Offices of Olsen Thielen and has more than 6 years of experience in public accounting and 1 year of industry experience. He works primarily with small businesses, S-Corporations, partnerships, and individuals. Matt joined the Firm in 2017. Complete bio and picture here!

Speaker Bio:  Joseph Mayer, CPA, MST, Principal/Olsen Thielen
Joe is a Principal in the Tax Department of the Roseville Office of Olsen Thielen and has more than 31 years of tax experience in both public accounting and industry accounting. He has extensive experience in tax issues and tax planning with closely-held and family-owned businesses and their shareholder/owners. Joe joined the Firm in 2004. Complete bio and picture here!

Participants can earn 1.0 CTP/CCM/FP&A credit or 1.0 CPE credit.

Advanced Preparation - A handout will be sent to all registered participants to read before the session.

All cancellations must be received in writing prior to noon two days before any monthly seminar/meeting.  We encourage substitutions at any time, let us know in writing via email or the person can just check with us at the event.  All no shows will be invoiced if not already paid.  Cancellations received more than 48 hours prior to the seminar receive a 100% refund.  Cancellations not received 48 hours prior to the meeting date will not be honored.  Requests for refunds must be received via email.  For more information regarding refund, complaint and/or program cancellation policies, please contact our office at 763-577-0018.


LUNCH:  Mexican Buffet - Beans, rice, Fajita grilled chicken, ground beef, toppings, tortillas, Queso, toppings, includes salad, bread and butter service, coffee or tea. Dessert: Churros.

  • Member Pricing $35.00 per person through Tuesday, September 11, 2018, after Tuesday pricing is $45 per member.
  • Non-Member Pricing $49.00 per person through Tuesday, September 11, 2018, after Tuesday pricing is $59.00 per non-member.
