President's Message

October 2019

Greeting MNAFP Members!

Thank you to everyone that made it to Pinstripes last Thursday, October 10th,  for our second 2019/2020 Luncheon series that we have titled, “Disruptors.” The weather may not have been the best, but the colors of the trees surrounding Centennial Lake were just starting to change, and looked spectacular.  Sean Van Gundy, Managing Director, Working Capital Advisor from C2FO spoke to us about Invisible Banks and how Corporates can become financial disruptors. Although he admitted that banks are still a valuable part of corporate funding, which was good news for the bankers in the audience, he challenged us to consider new ways to generate additional cash flow without the use of traditional banks.

With The National AFP Convention, in Boston, less that a week away, we would like to connect the people that will be attending. If you are interested in trying to meet up with fellow MNAFP Members while in Boston, please send Kate Cole your name, email address, and cell phone number. Kate will compile a list and distribute it later this week. This list will only go to those members asking to be on the list and wanting to make Boston connections.

At our next meeting, November 14th, will be with Todd Albers of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. The topic is "In an Ideal World - What B2B Payment Efficiency Looks Like and a Roadmap to Achieve it.

Enjoy the fall colors and cool evenings!
