President's Message

January 25, 2019

Are you noodling over the clues to find infamous medallion, the (coveted) Puck? Anyone in this crazy cold weather? I wish I was there and able! I love to search for that darn puck. But alas, I will watch the search from afar and dream about the St Paul Winter Carnival. I bet there are more searchers than ever with this being day 35 of the government shut down.

We are at the lowest level of jobless claims since November 1969 and yet Shopko is closing 6 stores in neighboring Wisconsin, Sears locations have all closed this past weekend and small business loans are in limbo but Peanut Butter is finally getting its day! I’m not sure that’s newsworthy, it’s a sticky situation…

With all of this going on, the U.S. economy is experiencing the second largest expansion on record. The current expansion began in June 2009. Of course, boom times don’t last forever. As we approach the end of the cycle, come hear about how we expect economic conditions to impact treasury management in 2019. Join us on February 14th to hear from Mr. Omodunbi, a seasoned economist.

Our speaker is Mr. Abbey Omodunbi, Assistant Vice President and Economist ~ PNC Financial
